The First "Leading Cup" Football Invitational Tournament of The "Yun · Yue Dong" Series of Events in Baiyun District in 2026 Has Officially Kicked Off!

This summer, a football fever has swept through Baiyun District!

The inaugural "Leading Cup" Football Invitational Tournament, part of the 2026 Baiyun District "Cloud Leap" series of events, officially kicked off on August 22nd. Eight strong local teams gathered on the green field, launching a grassroots football feast for Baiyun fans.

This tournament is guided by the Baiyun District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau and the Baiyun District Sports Federation, and hosted by Guangzhou Yinuo Leading Sports Development Co., Ltd., with the Baiyun District Football Association as a co-organizer. It is part of the Baiyun District "Cloud Leap" series of mass sports events, providing a competitive platform for football enthusiasts to hone their skills and make friends through the sport.

Tournament Dates: August 22, 2026 – September 16, 2026 Match Venues: Jianggao Town Shuili Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park Sports Park Football Field (August 22-23, September 5-6, September 12, September 16); Jianggao Town Shenshan Town Zhongbei Road Football Field (August 29-30).

Competition Format: This is an eight-a-side (7+1) football tournament, with a total match time of 70 minutes, divided into two 35-minute halves. The competition is divided into two stages. The first stage is a group round-robin tournament, with 8 teams divided into Groups A and B. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals. The second stage is a knockout tournament, where teams compete to determine the champion, runner-up, and third-place winners. The semifinals will begin on September 12th, and the third-place match and the final will be held on September 16th.

This tournament brings together eight local teams: Shima Village, Guangzhou Yunheng Zhenpin Football Club, Shenshan Wenxin Sports, TMT, Qiurenhe Sports Association, Guangzhou Hengjian Football Club, Guangzhou Lions FC, and Guangbailong International Freight.

For the next month, every Saturday and Sunday evening at 7:30 PM, several exciting matches will be held at the Minsheng Science and Technology Park Football Field and Shenshan Football Field (the final will be held on Wednesday, September 16th, at the Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park Sports Park Football Field in Shuili, Jianggao Town). All football fans are welcome to come and cheer for their favorite teams and experience the passion and joy of football!
